To solve the problem that it is difficult to correct only an L side or an R side when a 3D video is recorded and that a pair of 3D videos which are simultaneously recorded are not easily identified and the pair of 3D videos are not easily identified from a 2D video.

A video recording system records first and second video signals constituting the 3D video. A video recording apparatus 100 includes: a UMID generating unit 107 generating a UMID which uniquely identifies the video signal from information obtained in an apparatus ID acquiring unit 104, a time information acquiring unit 105, and a channel information input unit 106; and a UMID transmitting unit 110 transmitting the UMID obtained in the UMID generating unit 107 to a video recording apparatus 200. The video recording apparatus 200 includes: a UMID receiving unit 204 receiving the UMID transmitted from the video recording apparatus 100; and a UMID changing unit 206 changing the UMID obtained in the UMID receiving unit 204 based on channel information inputted by a channel information input unit 205.
