Abstract:

To provide a walking support device with a superior mounting property while reducing a feeling of incompatibility to be given to a wearer.

A mounting type robot 1 detects movements of a wearer and controls operations without using a myoelectric sensor in order to improve the mounting property. When the operation is performed by detecting the movement of the wearer in such a manner, control is made with a primary delay and it becomes a cause of producing the feeling of incompatibility to the wearer, however, the mounting type robot 1 mitigates the feeling of incompatibility to be given to the wearer by predicting the movement of the wearer and complementing the control with the primary delay. As a specific prediction scene, when a walking reference surface moves such as an escalator or a moving sidewalk, whether or not the wearer is to continue walking on the moving walking surface is estimated and predicted, and control in the case of continuing walking and control in the case of not continuing walking are switched depending on the result.
