PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing and drying machine enabling a user to select either drying operation focusing on time shortening or on power amount reduction.SOLUTION: A washing and drying machine includes means enabling a user to optionally select a normal drying operation using heating means, or a power saving drying operation not mainly using the heating means, in a washing and drying course for performing from washing to drying or a course for performing drying only. In addition, the washing and drying machine is characterized by at least one of the followings: in a series of washing and drying operations, an upper limit of a final dewatering rotation speed is raised higher than that in the normal drying operation as much as possible for each load rank; a final dewatering time is made longer than that in the normal drying operation; and air blowing means is rapidly accelerated to a setting rotation speed at the start of drying in a range preventing damage to the machine without restriction due to usage in combination with the heating means.
