Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce vibration and noises when an electromagnetic brake is put on by making a brushless motor revolve a stirrer and a revolving tub with the direct-drive system.
SOLUTION: This washing machine is equipped with a revolving tub inside the outer tub and a stirrer inside the revolving basket. Three-phase brushless motor 20, which drives the stirrer or the stirrer and the revolving basket together, is provided as well. Switching elements 57a to 57f of inverter main circuit 47, switching element for discharge 50 and relay switch 46 are controlled as an electromagnetic brake device to the three-phase brushless motor 20. Microcomputer 63, which generates a regenerative brake, a discharge brake, a short- circuit brake and a soft brake, is also provided.
