Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waste heat recovery device using a Rankine cycle for recovering waste heat from an internal combustion engine, while improving its waste heat recovery efficiency by efficiently superheating gas phase fluid inside a superheater.SOLUTION: The waste heat recovery device includes: a boiler for vaporizing a cooling medium; a gas-liquid separator for separating a gas-liquid two-phase cooling medium delivered from the boiler into gas phase fluid and liquid phase fluid; the superheater for superheating the gas phase liquid delivered from the gas-liquid separator by heat exchange with exhaust gas from the internal combustion engine; an expander for expanding the gas phase fluid passing through the superheater to recover thermal energy; and a condenser for condensing the gas phase fluid passing through the expander to restore it to the liquid phase fluid. The superheater is internally equipped with a passage through which the gas phase fluid passes, and is configured so that the outside wall face of an exhaust manifold of the internal combustion engine is exposed to the inside of the passage. The outside wall face of the exhaust manifold is provided with radiation fins.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
