There is provided a furnace body 1 in which there are formed vertically in succession a drying zone A for drying introduced waste, a thermal decomposition zone B for thermally decomposing waste dried in the drying zone A, and a combustion melting zone C for combusting and melting the waste thermally decomposed in the thermal decomposition zone C, and in which a gas supply mechanism is formed by providing in the furnace wall of the combustion melting furnace C a plurality of combustion fluid supply holes 2 for blowing a combustion fluid. The combustion fluid supply hole 2 is formed such that the horizontal supply width of the combustion fluid supply hole 2 is larger than that of the vertical one.
