Title:
WATER-ABSORBING DRY TYPE NONWOVEN FABRIC
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH08296162
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a dry nonwoven fabric capable of favorably absorbing a physiological saline and having high water retention performance and suitable for hygienic materials, etc., by using a specific water-absorbing fiber and a water-absorbing polymer.

CONSTITUTION: This water-absorbing dry type nonwoven fabric is obtained by uniformly spraying a mixture of ≥20wt.% water-absorbing fiber such as Oasis (R) (Technical absorbent Corp., England) having ≥1000wt.% water retention ratio of a physiological saline onto paper obtained by putting a mixture of a water-insoluble water-absorbing polymer such as polyethylene oxide modified material with pulp onto a sucking net and having 15g/m2 weight by an air lay method to form a laminated web in ≥30wt.% total amount of the water- absorbing fiber and the water-absorbing polymer, spraying water from above the paper of the first layer in fog-state and carrying out heat press treatment to carry out self bonding of the water-absorbing fiber. The nonwoven fabric has ≥0.25g/cc density and swells to thickness of ≥7 time after absorbing water, based on the thickness before water absorption.
