To obtain a water-absorbing resin, to obtain a composition containing the water-absorbing resin, and to obtain a water-absorbing resin which prevents coloration caused in a process for producing a water absorbent using the water-absorbing resin or the water-absorbing resin composition or during the storage of the water absorbent.

The water-absorbing resin which prevents coloration and has excellent coloration stability is obtained by combining specific quinone compounds. The water-absorbing resin can suitably be used for absorbents such as diapers or sanitary goods, cold insulators, freshness retainers, water stops, water-stopping tapes, soil improvers, humectants, and the like.
