Title:
WATER-BASE FLUORESCENT INK FOR BALL-POINT PEN
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0673324
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the subject ink which does not improperly ooze out from the pen point by mixing a fluorescent dye with triethanolamine, a viscosity modifier and water to form an ink specified in solid content, viscosity, etc.

CONSTITUTION: A fluorescent dye (e.g. Color Index Acid Yellow 3), triethanolamine, a viscosity modifier (e.g. sodium salt of styrene/acrylic acid copolymer)and water as the essential components are mixed with each other in such a mixing ratio as to given an ink of a solid content of 15-60wt.% in a dry state and a viscosity of 50-2000cp to produce the objective ink. This ink facilitates the confirmation of residual ink in a ball-point pen and can allow smooth writing without causing blotting. Even when the ball-point pen with its pen point directing downward is kept uncapped for a long time, the ink does not ooze out of the pen point.
