To provide a water-based ink composition free from troubles of blotting and strike-through of the ink, enabling high-quality printing with high print density and having excellent water resistance and high dispersion stability.
The water-based ink composition is composed of a water-soluble polyamide resin (C) included in an aqueous medium composed at least of water, pigment-colored resin particles included in a resin (A) having acidic group and a base (B). The composition is especially a water-based ink for ink-jet recording containing condensed monomer component of the water-soluble polyamide resin (C) containing one or more compounds for each component (1) to (3) consisting of (1) a monomer or polymer of -caprolactam or -aminocaproic acid, (2) a saturated aliphatic dicarboxylic acid and (3) a polyoxyalkylenediamine or a diamine having a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic structure.
