PURPOSE: To provide the coolant with which the grinding efficiency can be enhanced through improving the grinding ratio and also the service life of a grindstone that has a bonding material contg. a high polymer material such as PVA, nylon, polyurethane can be prolonged.
CONSTITUTION: This coolant consists of a 5 to 50 pts.wt. sulfur-based extreme pressure agent (such as dilauryl tetrasulfide, sulfurized fatty oil, sulfurized mineral oil), a 5 to 50 pts.wt. fatty acid or the like (such as oleic acid, lauric acid, dodecanedioic acid), a 5 to 30 pts.wt. alkanolamine (such as triethanolamine, diethanolamine), a 1 to 20 pts.wt. anionic surfactant (such as petroleumsulfonate) and water and/or a mineral oil, both of which are blended at need, based on 100 pts.wt. of the total amount of the coolant. When the fatty acid or the like and the alkanolamine are blended, they react with each other to form a salt which exists in the coolant.
