To provide a wave-activated power generator capable of preventing the breakage of insulator film forming a dielectric, and improving the efficiency of power generation.
A capacitor used in this wave activated power generator is constituted of an electrode plate 1, forming an anode, an electrode plate 2 forming a cathode, a conductive metal case 3 vertically supporting the anodal electrode plate 1 on an inner surface by an insulator film (e), and a moving means 4 changing the area of a surface which the anodal electrode plate 1 and the insulator film (e) of the metal case 3 face by having the metal case 3 move vertically matched with wave height. As a result, a variable capacitor is formed which has such structure as anodal electrode 1/insulator film (e) of the metal case 3/conductive metal case 3-wave (sea water) 11-cathodic electrode plate 2. Coating the insulator on the inner surface of the metal case 3 prevents the insulator film (e) from being damaged by ocean waves and permits the thickness of the insulator film (e) to become thin, so that it is possible to increase the electrostatic capacity of the capacitor and improve the efficiency of power generation.
