Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wavelength variable optical filter device small in size which can continuously vary the wavelength without providing a moving part.
SOLUTION: A dielectric multilayer film filter element 3 having a dielectric multilayer film 2 formed on a substrate 1 and a piezoelectric actuator 6 are held between holding parts 4, 5. The physical film thickness of the multilayer film of the dielectric multilayer film filter is varied by applying a voltage on the piezoelectric actuator 6 from a variable power supply 7, which therefore can vary the wavelength.
