Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a weft feeler having a slit permitting the passage of a weft with beating operations, which can especially surely detect the weft.
SOLUTION: This method for detecting the weft, using a weft feeler having a pair of guides disposed at a space in the picking direction to overlap on the slit, is characterized in that the picked weft is passed through the slit to detect the weft in a state engaged with the guides. A pair of the guides are extended in the extended direction of the slit in a range including a region on the weft entrance side from at least the optical axis of the slit.
