To maintain excellent qualities of woven fabric, to speed-up weft insertion and to reduce an air consumption without increasing a loom space in an air-jet loom for inserting a weft by main nozzle jets and tandem nozzle jets.

The weft insertion apparatus in an air-jet loom has a constitution that cylinders 23 are connected through joints 24 to the tips of acceleration pipes 17 of tandem nozzles 11A and 12A in series, slits 231 are arranged from the tips 232 to the base ends 233 of the cylinders 23 at the progress sides of the main nozzles 13 and 14 on the sides of the cylinders 23 and the joints 24 are equipped with slits 241 so that the slits are overlapped on the base end parts of the slits 231. Wefts Y1 and Y2 are taken in and out from the slits 231.
