Abstract:

To measure wheel alignment speedily while maintaining the measurement accuracy of a camber angle θ cam by simplifying a device configuration or a control procedure.

Laser displacement meters 6-1-6-4 are arranged so that light for finding a range corresponding to at least three laser displacement meters out of four laser displacement meters 6-1-64 can constantly be applied onto a measurement surface 4S of a measurement plate 4 without providing a mechanism for driving the laser displacement meters 6-1-6-4, and a distance to the measurement surface 4S and the inclination of the measurement surface 4S are calculated based on the output signal of at least three laser displacement meters where the light for finding range is being applied onto the measurement surface 4S, thus measuring a wheel alignment accurately by following the displacement of a measurement plate without making complex a device configuration, at the same time increasing a distance in the vertical direction of the laser displacement meter being arranged at the top of a parallelogram at a top view and improving the accuracy of a camber angle.
