Title:
WHEEL CAMBER ANGLE CONTROL DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH03157215
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To properly maintain traveling stability, when a vehicle receives a side wind during the traveling so that a lateral acceleration acts on the vehicle body, by controlling the camber angle of the wheels so as to reduce the change in the behavior of the vehicle, in accordance with the lateral acceleration detected at that time.

CONSTITUTION: Actuators 2, 4, 6, and 8 for adjusting the camber angles of right and left, front and rear wheels are provided, and the camber angles of the wheels can be adjusted by displacing the upper end position of a strut in the vehicle-width direction by the extension or contraction of the respective actuators 2 to 8. And the respective actuators 2 to 8 are drivingly controlled via solenoid control valves 10 to 16 which are controlled by a controller 32 in accordance with the traveling condition of a vehicle. In this control, the respective actuators 2 to 8 are controlled so that the camber thrust force of the wheels changes in such a direction that the behavior change of the vehicle caused by a lateral acceleration is reduced, when the steering angle by a steering sensor 38 is nearly in the neutral condition and also a lateral acceleration is detected by a lateral acceleration sensor 36.
