Abstract:
To provide a whitened wood chip which does not color a treated water after cleaning of sewage, sludge or the like, and its production method.
The whitened wood chip is a wood chip to be a culture medium of microorganisms for cleaning water, in which a removal ratio of wood colors is 75 to 95%. Furthermore, in the production method of the whitened wood chip, the wood chip to be the culture medium of microorganisms for cleaning water is washed with a 0.5 to 3 wt.% of a surfactant solution for 30 minutes or longer and at 100°C or lower.
