Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent a wire feed pulley from being moved through the force of inertia and to enable realization of unmanned operation, by a method wherein, through application of a maximum voltage on a pretention motor during disconnection of a wire electrode, maximum torque is generated.

CONSTITUTION: In a pretension motor 15, when disconnection occurs due to some abnormality during cutting of a work 2 by means of a wire electrode 1, the disconnection is detected by means of a disconnection detecting circuit 33, and a voltage is automatically applied by means of a control circuit 32, a maximum current flows to produce maximum torque. This constitution prevents dislocation of the wire electrode 1 from pulleys 4 7 resulting from the stop of rotation of a wire feed bobbin 3, and the wire electrode from bringing reprocessing into an ineffective state resulting from contact with a machine body, and enables prevention of the occurrence of disjoint, resulting in realization of unmanned operation.
