PURPOSE: To prevent a wire from being wound in poor performance by sensing the flange positions on both sides of a bobbin using sensing means installed on both sides of a guide means immediately before the guide means reaches the reversal position, and controlling the reversing and accelerating timing of guide means in accordance with the results from sensing.
CONSTITUTION: Proximity sensors 50, 60 are installed at the two ends of a traverser 20 on a spiral shaft 30 and moved on the spiral shaft 30 in the condition that the traverser 20 is held at a certain spacing. When the sensors 50, 60 reach right over flanges 24, 26 of the bobbin 22, the position of traverser 20 is sensed. In conformity to a sensing signal thus emitted, the reversal timing of traverser 20 and the acceleration timing at the time of reversal are calculated, and the reciprocative motions are controlled by a motor 32. This permits omitting the rolling monitoring done by an operator to enhance the working efficiency and securing good performance of wire rolling operation.
