Abstract:
To provide a firewood splitting device which can safely and efficiently split a firewood.SOLUTION: A pair of opposite left and right strut members 2, 3 are erected on a pedestal 27, and the strut members 2, 3 are provided with left and right insertion openings 12, 13. A blade body 7 of a hatchet 6 can be inserted into the insertion openings 12, 13 from a tip 11 thereof in a lengthwise direction while a blade part 10 thereof being so made as to face up. A tip side portion 15 and base end part side portion 16 of the blade body 7 are inserted into the left and right insertion openings 12, 13, and are bridged between the left and right strut members 2, 3. Further, another side edge 17 of the blade body 7 is supported by bottoms 19, 20 of the insertion openings 12, 13. A lower end 25 of a firewood 23 is brought into contact with an upper end 22 of the upward blade part 10 and an upper end 26 of the firewood 23 is pressed downward with a hammer, and thereby can split the firewood 23 by the blade body 7.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
