A wooden strip 28 is introduced into a casing 5 from an inlet channel 6, crushed by rotating blades 4, 4a and 4b and a fixed member 25, repelled and scattered on a receiving plate 2 arranged under e.g. the blade 4 and crushed further. The crushed pieces are then repelled and scattered by the plate 2 to grind finely. The crushed pieces pass through mesh holes 27 of a filter plate 3 to produce finely ground pieces of uniform specified sizes, which can be transferred to the duct side.
