PURPOSE: To enable printing with high operating efficiency even on a small-size recording paper in a desired printing mode by connecting a handy-type printer capable of printing on small-size recording paper and part of recording paper to the main unit of a word processor with a large packing capacity and various editing functions.

CONSTITUTION: When the main unit 1 of word processor controls a cursor according to a command and determines a printing range, it reads the corresponding printing data from a storage part and transfers the printing data to a handy-type printer 5 through cable 4 and an interface control part. The transferred printing data is stored in a random access memory. After the printing data is stored, the handy-type printer 5 is manually moved over recording paper 19 made into a book, and positioned to a part 19a to be printed of the recording paper 19. Then, the printing head of a printing part is actuated by pressing a printing button 12. Consequently, information of the second customer is to be printed on the part to be printed 19a of the recording paper.
