To provide a work press-down device which assures sufficient air flow required for sucking cutting chips to suck an remove cutting chips positively without spoiling the function for preventing shift or rising of a workpiece.

The work press-down device is provided with a cylindrical bushing body 30 through which a drill 25 on the spindle goes. On the inner peripheral of the bushing body 30, four ribs 37 in contact with the workpiece W1 are extruded radially inward with a suitable clearance for passing the drill 25 kept between the tops of the ribs 37. Besides on the bottom peripheral of the bushing body 30, a suction groove 47 which opens outward is formed to lead to groove spaces 42 which are made by the adjacent ribs 37 in the bushing body 30.
