To obtain a long-lived woven fabric for papermaking of a single warp and quintuple weft structure capable of improving stock supporting properties and having excellent dehydrating properties.

This woven fabric 1A for papermaking has the single warp and quintuple weft structure comprising a first layer weft 21, a first layer auxiliary weft 211, a second layer weft 22, a third layer weft 23, a fourth layer weft 24 and a fifth layer weft 25 arranged in the upper and lower five layers, a single warp 3 weaving the wefts in which the 10 warps 3 form a weave repeat and each warp 3 weaves the adjacent first layer weft 21 with the first layer auxiliary weft 211 sandwiched therebetween once and weaves the fifth layer weft 25 once. The third layer weft 23 to the fifth layer weft 25 are respectively shifted by one weft at the maximum in the longitudinal direction and arranged relatively to the weft just above each of the wefts and the constitution is somewhat moderate in the triplicity. The fifth layer weft 25 has a long crimp having a length of the 9 warps 3 and the first layer weft 21 has an upwardly protruding crimp having a length of the 6 warps 3.
