To provide a woven fabric which is excellent in elongation performance and hardly causes yarn slippage and frayed parts.
A woven fabric having a multiple structure includes: weft 1 forming a surface layer 10; weft 2 forming a back layer 20; and warp 3 forming the surface layer 10 and the back layer 20, and binding the surface and back layers at necessary portions. The fabric is woven using a yarn A partly including a heat-fusible component as at least part of the weft 1 forming the surface layer 10 and using a latently crimpable yarn as the weft 2 forming the back layer 20. After being woven, the fabric is subjected to heat treatment so that the yarns are fusion-fixed to each other by fusing of the heat-fusible component in the yarn A used as the weft 1 of the surface layer 10, and elongation performance is imparted in the weft direction by crimp development of the latently crimpable yarn used as the weft 2 of the back layer 20.
