Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite spun yarn comprising long and short fibers which is excellent in cut resistance and abrasion resistance and has a core-sheath structure, and to provide a woven or knitted fabric and a protective material which comprise the spun yarn, are excellent in cut resistance, abrasion resistance, lightness, flexibility, and wearing feeling, and lead to a life elongation (long life) to a repeated use/washing.SOLUTION: The composite spun yarn comprising long and short fibers and excellent in abrasion resistance and cut resistance is either of (i) a composite spun yarn comprising long and short fibers with a core-sheath structure comprising woolly finished yarns of water-insoluble synthetic fiber filaments arranged in a core part and aramid short fiber bundles arranged in a sheath part or (ii) a composite spun yarn comprising long and short fibers with a core-sheath structure comprising aramid short fiber bundles arranged in a core part and woolly finished yarns of water-insoluble synthetic fiber filaments arranged in a sheath part. In the composite spun yarns comprising long and short fibers of (i) and (ii), the ratio of the woolly finished yarns of the water-insoluble synthetic fiber filaments is 5-50 mass%. The woven or knitted fabric, the protective material, and the glove include the same.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
