PURPOSE: To facilitate an operation of the change of a photographing range or the like.
CONSTITUTION: Within the photographing visual field of a camera 10, an instruction pen provided with a light emission part at a tip is placed on the diagonal point of an area under consideration and the light emission part is made to emit light. A command decision circuit 18 detects the light emission point of the light emission part from the output images of the camera 10, decides the contents of an instruction from the movement or the like and supplies a control command (the command of setting the area under consideration and the coordinate data of the diagonal point, for instance) corresponding to the decision result to a camera/universal head control circuit 14. The camera/universal head control circuit 14 calculates the zoom value of the camera 10 and the pan angle and tilt angle of a universal head 12 so as to let the specified area under consideration be fully in the photographing visual field corresponding to the control command from the command decision circuit 18 and controls the camera 10 and the universal head 12.
