To provide a writing utensil with a catch which can insert a considerably thick batch of documents or memorandum sheets and keep its presentable appearance unimpaired by constituting the writing utensil integrally with a catch which can make the writing utensil easily portable.

In this writing utensil with a catch, a lower hollow annular body 9 with one insertion piece 7 and one gripping piece 8 and an upper hollow annular body 12 with the other insertion piece 10 and the other gripping piece 11, are fitted into a barrel extended to the head part side of a writing utensil main body 1. Further, a hole is opened each in the contact surface sides of the lower hollow annular body 9 and the upper hollow annular body 12, and each one end of a ring spring is fitted into each hole. The insertion pieces 7 and 10 are opened by pressing the gripping pieces 8 and 11, and the memorandum sheet or documents are inserted into this opening.
