An X-ray CT apparatus includes: an X-ray tube for emitting X-rays; a slit mechanism 3c2 for changing the size of an opening where the X-rays emitted by the X-ray tube pass through; an X-ray detector for detecting the X-rays that have passed through the opening; an operation part to be operated by a user; an operation defect detection part 21 for detecting the operation defect of the slit mechanism 3c2; an irradiation information acquisition part 23 for maximizing the size of the opening by the slit mechanism 3c2 when the operation defect of the slit mechanism 3c2 is detected by the operation defect detection part 21, and obtaining irradiation information related to the irradiation field of the X-rays in the case that the opening is the largest; an irradiation information reporting part 24 for reporting the irradiation information obtained by the irradiation information acquisition part 23; and an imaging continuation part 25 for continuing imaging of radiating the X-rays by the X-ray tube corresponding to the input operation of the user to the operation part when the irradiation information is reported by the irradiation information reporting part 24.
