The invention is an operation method for an X-ray diagnostic apparatus equipped with: a first arm 51 which is equipped with a bed 18 for laying a subject thereon, a first X-ray generating section 1, and a first X-ray detector 2 and is rotatably supported on a floor revolution arm 54 rotatably supported on a floor face; a second arm 101 which is equipped with a second X-ray generating section 105 and a second X-ray detector 103 and is movably supported on a ceiling; and a control section 33. The control section controls: a process to move the first arm and the floor revolution arm to a position in parallel with the central axis of the bed; a process to move the second arm to a predetermined position along the central axis of the bed; and a process to move the first arm to the subject head part side on the bed from the second arm.
