To provide a yarnlike material obtained simply by tearing or cutting without slitting process, excellent in strength with interknitted yarns and having a soft touch feeling and decorativeness because fibers of a nonwoven fabric at the edge are randomly remaining when torn off, and because the interknitted yarns has elasticity due to the texture, the yarnlike material and the fabric made of the material with moderate stretchability and without pulling the interknitted yarns out.

This yarnlike material has the one or plural knitting yarns and is composed of a torn or a cut nonwoven fabric. The method for producing the yarnlike material is provided.
