Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a large phase shift by integrating a capacitive component and a varactor element connected between an output terminal and a ground conductor into one varactor element so as to use the varactor element with a small change ratio of a junction capacitance.
CONSTITUTION: A capacitor 11 whose capacitance is Ca and varactor elements 4a, 4b whose junction capacitance is Cj (V) connecting to output terminals 7a, 7b of a hybrid circuit comprising lumped constant components in an equivalent circuit of the reflection type analog phase shifter are realized by being integrated into varactor diodes 9a, 9b respectively. Requirements in a change ratio of the junction capacitance of the varactor diodes in the reflection analog phase shifter of this configuration are equivalent to the sum of the same capacitance Ca respectively to the denominator and the numerator in the change ratio of the junction capacitance of the varactor diode of conventional configuration, then the requirements to a change ratio of the varactor diode are relaxed. Thus, a large phase shift is obtained with a small change ratio.
