Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To estimate a capacity of a secondary battery without influence on the use of the secondary battery.SOLUTION: A capacity estimation apparatus includes: a time determination unit 102 determining whether a sum of first time that is time required to change a state of charge of a secondary battery from a current state of charge to a first state of charge and second time that is time required to change the state of charge of the secondary battery from the first state of charge to a second state of charge is equal to or shorter than non-utilization time that is time of a period in which the secondary battery is not used; a state-of-charge regulation unit 103 that regulates the state of charge of the secondary battery from the first state of charge to the second state of charge by performing charge or discharge of the secondary battery if the sum of the first time and the second time is equal to or shorter than the non-utilization time; a current integration unit 104 identifying a current integrated value with which the secondary battery is charged or that is discharged from the secondary battery while the state-of-charge regulation unit 103 regulates the state of charge of the secondary battery from the first state of charge to the second state of charge; and a capacity estimation unit 105 estimating a capacity of the secondary battery on the basis of a difference between the first state of charge and the second state of charge and the current integrated value identified by the current integration unit 104.
