Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an EPDM composition which can be used as a weatherstrip for motor vehicles because of its low compression set.
CONSTITUTION: The EPDM composition is obtained by adding 5 pts.wt. of zinc oxide, 2 pts.wt. of stearic acid, 80 pts. wt. of SRF black, 40 pts.wt. of oil, 1.0 pt.wt. of sulfur, 0.5 pt.wt. of M, 0.5 pt.wt. of TMT, 0.5 pt.wt. of TETR, 1.5 pt.wt. of BZ, 7.0 pts.wt. of ADCA, 2.0 pts.wt. of a urea compound, in addition, 0.1 to 15 pts.wt. of hydrotalcite (Mg4.5Al2(OH)13CO13.3.5H2O) to 100 pts.wt. of EPDM.
