Abstract:
PURPOSE:To perform appropriate automatic adjustment of a camber when a vehicle receives the external force by setting a standard caster angle in response to the speed and a steering angle, and while correcting a standard caster angle large and small in response to increase and decrease of the lateral directional external force the time of turning at a nearly constant steering angle. CONSTITUTION:A caster angle adjusting mechanism 12 for sliding a head 1A of a strut 1 in the longitudinal direction of a car body to adjust a caster angle freely is provided in a fitting part of the head 1A of the strut 1. In this case, a slide base 14 to be fitted to a car body side of the top surface of a strut tower and a slide plate 13 which can slide against the slide base 14 fitted to an upper end of the strut 1 are provided in the caster angle adjusting mechanism 12. The slide late 13 is driven by an actuator 25, and actuator 25 is controlled by a controller 26. The controller 26 sets a standard caster angle in response to the speed and a steering angle, and corrects a standard caster angle large when the lateral directional external force is increased at the time of turning at a nearly constant steering angle.
