Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prepare the subject composition having superior mechanical characteristics, electric arc tracking resistance and low corrosion behavior by allowing a composition having polyamide as its base material and containing red phosphorus as a flame retardant to contain specific additives.
CONSTITUTION: An additive comprising zinc compounds selected from ZnO, an oxygen-containing zinc salt and ZnS (example: zinc borate and ZnO) preferably in the amount of 10 to 100% by metal weight per red phosphorus weight, or more preferably 20 to 80%, is allowed to be contained in a composition having polyamide (example: nylon-6,6) as its base material and containing red phosphorus which preferably is coated with a resin (example: phenol-HCHO resin) as a flame retardant.
