Abstract:
The device for driving the reed (13) in a loom is completely independent from the main motor (40). A separate motor (30) for driving the rocking shaft (10) on which the reed (13) is fixed, is controlled according to the desired idividual operating conditions by a control system (50, 57). The method of driving the reed (13) consists in driving the rocking shaft (10) with the reed (13) independently from the main motor (40) for driving other systems of the loom. The loom is including an individual drive (30) for the rocking shaft (10) with the reed (13).
