To provide a dewatering dryer of sludge capable of reducing a facility cost by shortening dewatering time and drying time.
This dewatering dryer 1 of sludge forms dry cake by supplying heating fluid to the sludge, dewatering and drying it, and has at least a pair of filter plates 4. The filter plate 4 has a core plate 26, filter cloth 34 provided on both faces of the plate 4 and forming a filter chamber 32, and membrane 38 provided on the rear side of at least one face of the filter cloth and forming a fluid chamber for the heating fluid. The dryer 1 further has a sludge supply device 8 for pressurizing and supplying sludge to the filter chamber, a depressurizing device 18 depressurizing the filter chamber, a heating fluid supply device 14 supplying the heating fluid to the fluid chamber for dewatering and drying sludge in the depressurized condition, and a filtrate discharge device 10 discharging filtrate of sludge from the filter chamber to the outside. The membrane has a thickness of 0.05-3.00 mm.
