Abstract:
The side (8) of a heald shaft is formed by a folded sheet metal part enclosing a hollow space (13). The drive connection (25) is formed by flat extensions (20, 21) of the folded legs (11, 12). The extensions are in one piece with the legs (11, 12) and can be straight continuations, or provided by a joint or weld. The connection (28) to the heald frame can be at several places along its length. The side (8) can be folded into a U-shape from a single piece of steel sheet or alternatively assembled from two parts. It can also be a tubular structure.
