To provide a vegetable fiber-reinforced plastic material which shows more outstanding strength properties than a conventional fiber-reinforced plastics using a vegetable fiber as a reinforcing material.

In the fiber-reinforced plastic material using a lignocellulose fiber constituted of a cell wall 2 and a cell lumen 3, the lignocellulose fiber which shows the deformation of the cell wall 2, for example, by a beating process and the consequent disappearance of the cell lumen 3 as a hollow part, is used as a reinforcing material. A part of a cellulose microfibril constituting the cell wall 2 of the lignocellulose fiber is preferably protrudent way out of the surface of the cell wall 2 as a whisker-like fiber 6in.
