PURPOSE: To obtain an antibacterial mildew-proofing porous ceramic material having high mechanical strength, water resistance and heat-resistance, formable to arbitrary form and exhibiting long-acting excellent antibacterial mildew- proofing action at a small amount.
CONSTITUTION: This antibacterial mildew-proofing porous ceramic can be produced by mixing (A) 10-95wt.% of crystal powder obtained by supporting 0.1-5.0wt.% in total-of silver and/or copper on a scarcely soluble orthophosphoric acid salt or a scarcely soluble orthophosphoric acid double salt of one or more metals selected from alkaline earth metals, zinc and aluminum with (B) 5-90wt.% of one or more ceramic materials having a sintering temperature higher than that of the crystal powder and having an average particle diameter of 0.1-50μm and sintering the obtained mixture at ≥650$°C.
