Abstract:

PURPOSE: To suppress a rise of discharge starting voltage and minimum discharge maintaining voltage by using a compound material, mixing BaTiO3 of an oxide insulator of the same structure in an oxide conductor of perovskite crystal structure, as a cathode.
CONSTITUTION: A gas discharge type display panel is used with a cathode 3 formed of a compound mixing 40 to 70% by weight ratio BaTiO3, which is an oxide insulator of ferroelectric perovskite crystal structure, in an oxide conductor of perovskite crystal structure represented by (LaxSr1-x)CoO3 (where, 0≤x≤1). A back glass substrate 1, formed with this cathode 3 and an Ag bed electrode 2, and a front glass substrate 6, provided with an anode 4 serving as a transparent electrode and a partition 5, are opposed against the partition 5 so as to cross the cathode 3 with the anode 4. Glass frit is applied to the periphery of these substrates to burn the substrate air-tightly sealed. The inside of discharge space 7 is evacuated to a high vacuum and sealed with gas, and an exhaust pipe is sealed to fabricate the gas discharge type display panel.
