Abstract:
Preparation of an amino glycol (I) comprises reacting a ketoxime compound (II) with the ethylene oxide in an aqueous solution in the presence of a base to obtain 2-hydroxyethylketoxime compound (III) and further reacting (III) in the presence of an acid. Preparation of an amino glycol of formula (H 2N-O-CH 2-CH 2-OH) (I) comprises reacting a ketoxime compound of formula (II) with the ethylene oxide compound in an aqueous solution in the presence of a base to obtain 2-hydroxyethylketoxime compound of formula (III) and further reacting (III) in the presence of an acid. R 1>linear 1-8C-alkyl, phenyl or branched 3-8C-alkyl (all optionally one or more times substituted by halo, CN or NO 2), preferably CH 3 or C 2H 5; and R : R 1>, preferably isobutyl or tert.butyl. Where: when R 1> is CH 3, then R is tert.butyl or isobutyl, or vice versa. An independent claim is included for the 2-hydroxyethylketoxime compound (III). [Image].
