Abstract:

To prevent the degradation of battery function that is caused by a filling material to fill the clearance between a porous body and other members.

This manufacturing method for a fuel cell includes the following processing. (a) A membrane electrode assembly 22, porous body parts 24 and 25 which contact the membrane electrode assembly 22 and provide reaction gas for the membrane electrode assembly 22, and a separator 30 which is composed by using the material that does not transmit reaction gas are prepared. (b) A variable member 60 is prepared in such a state that it contacts porous body parts 24 and 25. (c) The membrane electrode assembly 22, porous body parts 24 and 25, and the separator are laminated. The variable part 60 is adhered to the porous body parts 24 and 25, and the separator 30, and disposed between the membrane electrode assembly 22 and the separator 30 to seal the porous body parts 24 and 25.
