Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power generation element which can suppress a short-circuit current flowing between a positive electrode sheet and a negative electrode sheet, and which has stable electrical characteristics.SOLUTION: A power generation element of the present invention comprises: a separator having a plurality of folded portions formed into creases by a bellows fold; and positive electrode sheets and negative electrode sheets disposed in valley grooves of the separator and alternately arranged via the separator. The positive electrode sheets each include a positive electrode current collector and positive electrode active material layers arranged on both faces of the positive electrode current collector. The negative electrode sheets each include a negative electrode current collector and negative electrode active material layers arranged on both faces of the negative electrode current collector. The positive electrode current collector and the negative electrode current collector each have a connection and an active material uncoated portion where the positive electrode active material layer or the negative electrode active material layer is not provided on the surface of the positive electrode current collector or the negative electrode current collector. The active material uncoated portion is provided on at least one of the edge enclosed in the folded portion and the edge sandwiched between the two adjacent folded portions.
