Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a septic tank where density in a membrane separation tank M can be controlled easily. SOLUTION: This septic tank is provided with a first casing X1 which is provided with the membrane separation tank M internally mounting a membrane separation tank M0 for filtering water to be treated given activated sludge process and which is arranged to be exposed to the ground at least partially and a second casing X2 provided with tanks except for the membrane separation tank M. The water to be treated is transported freely to the casing X1 from the casing X2. The casing X1 is provided with a sludge removal part M5 for discharging the sludge in the tank M to the outside of the tank M. The part M5 is arranged at a portition with a height determined on the basis of the ratio of the lower control limit density of activated sludge in the tank M to the upper control limit density thereof.
