Abstract:
The mat (4) is made of elastic material (3) and has reinforcements (2), which are partially surrounded by the elastic material. The reinforcements are aligned parallel or approximately parallel to each other. The elastic material and the reinforcements cooperate such that a bending of the mat with an arc of curvature in a plane takes place with reduced effort than with another arc of curvature of the same shape but in another plane. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a transfer device for transferring an object, particularly a packaging in the food industry, in combination with a mat; and (2) a method for transferring an object, particularly a packaging in the food industry.
