Abstract:
Provided is an accompanying mobile body in which a delay in a response to a sudden change of the advancing direction of a user is suppressed. A movement state recognition unit 52 recognizes the movement direction and the movement speed of a user. A predicted position calculation unit 53 calculates a predicted position of the user after lapse of a first predetermined time period, on the basis of the movement direction and the movement speed of the user. An accompanying control unit 54 executes accompanying control for moving an accompanying mobile body 1 by a traveling unit 10, toward a goal accompanying position that is away by a specified distance in a specified direction from the predicted position.
