Abstract:
[PROBLEMS] To provide a novel agent for the prevention or treatment of leukemia. [MEANS
FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] Disclosed is an agent for the prevention or treatment of
leukemia, which comprises at least a composition derived from an olive leaf. Also
disclosed is a beverage/food for the prevention or treatment of leukemia, which
comprises at least the composition. The composition can inhibit the proliferation of
a leukemia cell and can also induce the differentiation of a leukemia cell into a
leukocyte (a normal cell). Therefore, the agent and the beverage/food can be used
for the prevention or treatment of leukemia with high possibility. The agent and
the beverage/food has such additional advantages that they may be applied over
a long period and continuously with high possibility, that they may have few adverse
side-effects with high possibility, and the like.
